Banesco USA distributes donations to 8 organizations in Puerto Rico

Supporting a variety of community assistance programs

San Juan, Puerto Rico (June 30, 2025) – Banesco USA announced the distribution of $22,300 among 8 organizations that support a variety of community aid programs, among which stand out a contribution to the new Sun Loan Fund of the organization Vitrina Solidaria, Inc.

The donations include contributions throughout Puerto Rico to social services, health, and educational programs, such as workshops for micro-entrepreneurs and business leadership.

Banesco USA joins the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, as the only bank in Puerto Rico, to provide alternative financing through Vitrina Solidaria. The funds awarded to Sun Loan Fund of Vitrina Solidaria will be used to support entrepreneurs and small businesses in underserved communities in eastern Puerto Rico, incentivizing job creation, economic resilience and the adoption of responsible business practices.

Furthermore, Banesco USA provided funds to foster educational services to micro-entrepreneurs through the partnership with the Corporación para el Financiamiento Empresarial de los Comerciantes y de las Comunidades (COFECC). The funds will support the entrepreneurs training program for micro-business and self-employee low- and moderate-income individuals.

Through a collaboration with Eco Recursos Comunitarios (ERCO), Banesco USA is sponsoring a special leadership program for the micro-entrepreneurs participating in their business incubator, which serves low- and moderate-income people in the towns of Aguas Buenas, Caguas, Cayey, Cidra, Gurabo, Juncos, Las Piedras and San Lorenzo.

Organizations with Social Services programs serving various vulnerable populations throughout the Island also received financial assistance from Banesco USA.

The funds allocated to Federación Puertorriqueña de Policías de Puerto Rico are destined to support families of police officers who died in the line of duty.

The financial support to Hogares Rafaela Ybarra will be used for repairs and maintenance of the residence that shelters girls and young women so they can have a pleasant and safe environment in which to live.

The funds awarded to Apoyo a Padres de Niños con Impedimentos (APNI), will contribute to maintain the counseling and psychosocial support services offered to low- and moderate-income parents and family members from across the island.

Taller Salud received a grant to provide services to low- and moderate-income women in Loiza, Salinas and San German coping with getting out of abusive relationships and lacking health services.

Lastly, Jóvenes de Puerto Rico en Riesgo received financial assistance from Banesco USA to support the socio-educational services provided to youth who participate in 7 public schools with low score and of limited economic income.

Hogares Rafaela Ybarra
Founded by the Religious Sisters of the Guardian Angels in the San José community. They provide shelter, care and protection to girls and young women who, due to various circumstances in their social environment, lack housing and adequate opportunities to guarantee their healthy development and growth.

Apoyo a Padres de Niños con Impedimentos (APNI)
Has served more than 450,000 families and service providers offering information, guidance, training, services and support necessary for the protection of the rights and full participation of people with disabilities in society.
